SChool is one week away!!!

Savannah Families we are so excited to see your students again! Most of you have registered your students (WOOHOO!) and are ready to go. Don't forget that if you have not registered, your student will not have a teacher to meet on Meet the Teacher night.

Monday, August 5th: Meet the Teacher Night (See times on the graphic below)

Wednesday, August 7th: First Day of School!!!

Tardy Bell rings at 7:40 so don't be late!
Dismissal is at 3:00 PM.

Wednesday, August 7th: Boohoo/Yahoo Breakfast at 7:45 AM in the Savannah Library

After dropping your kindergartner in class, please join our Savannah PTA for a light breakfast and chance to meet other Kindergarten moms. There are some tears, some cheers, and lots of community building.

When will we find out who our student's teacher will be this year?

Your student's teacher will contact you on the morning of Monday, August 5th via email.

Where do we pick up school supplies?

If you ordered school supplies through PTA they will be ready for you to pick up on Meet the Teacher night (August 5th). If you need to purchase school supplies, scroll down to the graphic below and click the link.

When do we pick up our dismissal tags?

Our 24-25 dismissal tags will be ready for pick up in your child's classroom on the night of Meet the Teacher, August 5th.

What about school lunch accounts?

You can create/add money to your students lunch account here.

If you would like to apply for school meal assistance (lunch/breakfast at a free or reduced price), please use the link below. Please note that families must reapply each school year.

It will prompt you to sign up for a SchoolCafe account first (or sign in if you already have an account from last year), then you may click on the benefits link within. This is also the place to add funds to your child's breakfast/lunch account if they will be eating in the cafeteria this school year.

VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND CHECK

Release of Directory Information

*Release of Directory Information:

This is always a tricky part of on-line registration for parents, and we get many questions about this step! During your on-line registration portion, you will be asked to choose a Release of Directory Information option.

Options will include:

Option #1: All info released. Information can be shared with contacts outside of DISD.

Option #2: Release limited information. Information will only be used within DISD (Savannah Facebook, yearbook, Denton ISD Facebook, school photos, school website, etc).

Option #3: Release no information. No information will be released at the school, within the district, or outside the district. This means your child cannot have their school photos taken, and cannot be in the yearbook, as an example.

*Please note that Savannah keeps all student information such as phone number and address confidential. We do not print directories with this information that goes home for all parents.

*If you have any questions about this step or any other registration questions, please give us a call! Our offices are closed for summer, but will open again July 25th. Feel free to leave a voicemail in the interim and we will return calls as quickly as we can!
