Happy Thursday, Gator Families! This week's Gator News includes some important reminders for a successful year:
School begins each day at 7:40. This means that any student who is not in class at that time is tardy and missing important instruction. Please drop your students off each day by 7:30 so they have time to walk to class before the tardy bell rings. If you plan for your student to eat breakfast with us, please drop them by 7:10. After 7:40, our staff needs to be with students. Parents must park and walk their students into the front office. Do not drop students at our doors unattended after the tardy bell rings.
Savannah requires a background check for guardians to have lunch with students on campus. Background checks can take ten to fourteen days to complete, so please plan ahead. There is a link button to the background check form at the end of the Savannah Shoutout each week. You will receive a confirmation email upon completion of the form. All volunteers and field trip chaperones must have the background check completed before volunteering in any area.
We want to create and keep an environment where students are focused and “Ready to learn” without distraction. Volunteers assisting with classroom or door decor must do this after school hours. 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm, Mon – Fri.
important upcoming dates:
August 27th: Torchy's Spirit Night
August 30th: Half Day/Elementary Students dismissed at 12:00 PM

We are happy to celebrate your child's birthday at school. We allow parents to send birthday trinkets for their child's class if they want, however, WE DO NOT ALLOW BIRTHDAY TREATS or FOODS. Cupcakes/cake/candy etc. compete with healthy meals and snacks and may affect students with food allergies. We will not serve them.
