5th Grade

This week, 5th graders finished working on their Dot Day themed yin yangs.

Students added color to their dots using watercolor paint, working to use paints in the same color family to allow them to blend together.

4th Grade

This week, 4th grade students finished working on their Dot Day themed geode drawings.

Students chose markers in cool or warm colors to outline the inner edges of their geodes. Once the color was applied, the students added plain water to blend their marker colors.

3rd Grade

3rd graders this week have worked on finishing their Dot Day landscapes.

Students were given the option to add color to their landscapes using watercolor or using blending techniques with crayons or colored pencils.

2nd Grade

2nd grade this week finished up on their Dot Day dots.

Students added the remaining watercolors dots to each of their circles and allowed them to dry.

1st Grade

This week in 1st grade, students finished up on their Dot Day Mandala designs.

Students used oil pastels to add line designs and patterns to their finished paintings.

Kinder

Kindergarteners this week continued their practice of the use of line in art.

Students learned about the abstract artist Piet Mondrian and how he used few colors, vertical and horizontal lines and simple shapes to create his art.

Using colored paper strips, squares and rectangles, students constructed a collage in the same style as Mondrian.
