Welcome! The purpose of this module is to introduce you to resources and support for creating visual design projects like research posters, infographics, photo essays, webpages and storyboards. This module should take around 15 minutes to complete.

Introduction

Hi! I'm Madison Hetu, the Creative Technologies Manager at Clemson. That means I can help with projects using creative tools, like poster design, video production, podcasts, 3D printing and other hands-on technology. 

To contact me, please email me at mhetu@clemson.edu. If you need help with your project, you can stop by the Adobe Digital Studio in Cooper Library, on the 5th floor. There are interns available to help you whenever we are open.

This guide will walk you through the process of creating a design project in these steps:

Part One: Design 101

Design 101 will introduce you to the principles of good design, like color, spacing, and fonts. It might be tempting to skip this section and go straight to the resources for your specific project, but don't do that! These are crucial points to making a good design.

What kind of project are you going to make? This section will walk you through getting started, deciding on software tools, and looking at examples for: research posters, photo essays, infographics, web pages, and other projects.

After you've selected your software, use the tutorials in this section to learn how to work with the program.
