About the Cadence Project at Clemson University

Cadence Design Systems is a global leader in electronic design automation (EDA) and semiconductor intellectual property (IP). They provide innovative software, hardware, and IP solutions to help design and create some of the world's most advanced systems, from consumer electronics to AI chips, data centers, automobiles, and aerospace systems. Cadence customers are the world’s most innovative companies, delivering extraordinary products from chips to boards to complete systems for the most dynamic market applications, including hyper-scale computing, 5G communications, automotive, mobile, aerospace, consumer, industrial, and healthcare.

Cadence is partnering with Clemson University to train Clemson students in their state-of-the-art EDA  software, aiming at building a talent pipeline for the broad semiconductor industry with an eye toward potential internships and full-time employment opportunities. This partnership aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the ever-evolving electronics industry. By working through the many training courses and modules available through the Cadence Academic Network, students can get amazing exposure to and experience with circuit design, board design, and chip design software. These training courses are plentiful and cover a vast amount of topics and techniques. Additionally, most courses allow students to take a badge exam upon completion, which allows students to obtain certifications for Cadence software and electronics design. By accumulating these digital badges, students can master advanced design techniques, set themselves apart from their peers, and greatly increase their chances of landing highly sought-after internships or full-time positions with industry leaders such as Cadence, Apple, Google, Tesla, Nvidia, Samsung, AMD, Meta, and many others. These badges can serve as a powerful symbol of a students' dedication to their craft and their commitment to excellence, setting them on a path towards a successful and fulfilling career in the tech industry.
