Research has become one of the university’s fuel to achieve its vision. Research at the University is based on strong discipline-specific knowledge that is a prerequisite for excellent multidisciplinary and thematic research. The university continuously pursues high quality research in the specific areas of science, engineering and technology. The university’s research agenda is anchored to the regional and national agenda, which also aims to address global goals for sustainable development.
To ensure quality in this area, the University develops institutional policies and strategies for promotion and sustainability. There is an implemented research management plan to monitor key performance indicators and targets. Thus, it ensures that the University meets the standard set by various external stakeholders in terms of research outputs developed by the faculty, students, and staff. Furthermore, policies for the ethical and safe conduct of research, awarding of research grants, conference participation and other incentives to support academic staff in their research performance are developed.
