The BSECE Program of BatStateU has recently received a rating of 4 QS stars from the QS Intelligence Unit of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), an internationally recognized British company which specializes in the analysis of higher education institutions around the world. Rising to the global arena, Batangas State University takes pride in being the first and the only state university in the country with eight engineering programs, including Electronics Engineering, which are accredited by the internationally recognized Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology or ABET. Moreover, The BSECE program of BatStateU is recognized by CHED as a center of Excellence in Electronics Engineering, making us a model institution offering the undergraduate program. BatStateU is one of the only six institutions in the country and the sole provincial university in Luzon that currently holds this distinction. BatStateU ECE is Level III accredited by the AACCUP and is one of the pioneer engineering programs in the country which has been given full accreditation by the Philippine Technological Council or PTC, which is the sole organization recognized by CHED and the body of engineering professionals in the country to be the applicant-signatory and representative of the Philippine jurisdiction to the Washington Accord. The BSECE program of BatStateU is also recognized as a pioneer in the implementation of outcomes-based education in the country. OBE has been practiced in BSU ECE since 2012. In 2020, the Board of Regents approved the proposed curriculum for the straight BS to MS ECE program. The offering of this new degree will commence in the first semester of AY 2021-2022.
Exactly three decades since the BSECE program was offered, the University has produced more than a thousand Electronics Engineering graduates who have contributed to the workforce and economy of our country. Our Electronics Engineering alumni practice the ECE profession in various fields - local and abroad, including semiconductor and electronics industries, telecommunications, government and civil service, information technology, instrumentation, banking and finance, commerce, research and academia. Some of our alumni have managed to create their own startups and companies. A number of alumni are now occupying top management posts in their respective professions. Furthermore, our Electronics engineering graduates are recognized and awarded in their respective companies and institutions due to their exemplary performance in their respective fields, whether it's in the industry or academe. Some were even recognized by our national government for their significant contributions and outstanding performance in the profession. Some have become consultants and a significant number of alumni, specifically the recent graduates are tenured employees doing engineering-related jobs. Some of our ECE alumni have also joined a number of local and international competitions. It is also worth mentioning that a significant number of our qualified ECE graduates have upgraded their licenses into Professional Electronics Engineers. Furthermore, many alumni have applied and are now recognized as ASEAN engineers.
Over the last 10 years, a total of 648 ECE graduates have successfully completed the BS Electronics Engineering program of BatStateU. Our ECE graduates have managed to achieve a board exam rating that is consistently above the national passing percentage. Considered as the home of topnotchers, BatStateU has produced a total of 162 board top notchers in various fields of engineering, 13 of which are Electronics Engineers. BatStateU has also been recognized several times by the Professional Regulations Commission as a top performing school in Electronics and Communications Engineering.
