The Italian Mobility was held in Citta de Castello, Umbria, Italy from May 1st till May 6th, 2022. Besides getting to know Italian culture by staying with host families, the students also worked on the environmental guidelines which they designed in international groups during the Danish Mobility.
On day one, participants spent the day at Malakos Museum, where they were involved in a workshop on creative recycling and where they had the possibility to visit the museum itself - which hosts the largest private collection of shells in Europe and a prototype of the Great Barrier Reef – and also the nearby Museum of Folks Traditions.
On day two, participants were hosted by High-School Franchetti-Salviani, a technical school with several branches. The biotechnological branch organised a workshop on the creation of bioplastics, under the guidance of Chemistry teachers and Chemistry students. There followed a short visit of Città di Castello’s city centre, a visit of the local Renaissance Arts Gallery and a plenary meeting with the Mayor at the Town Hall, where discussion was also dedicated to waste collection and plastic disposal.
On day three, participants spent the whole day at school. In the morning they were involved in cultural activities (presentation of Trestina’s surrounding landmarks, workshop on Italian language and geography, cultural quiz, teachers’ visit of the primary branch school in San Leo Bastia), whereas in the afternoon pupils completed in groups the work on the GREEN CITIZEN’S GUIDELINES.
On day four, the whole team visited the city of Assisi, with focus on St. Francis’ “Canticle of Creatures”, which is considered to be the first ecological manifesto ever written.
Day Five was dedicated to sports activities in international groups in the local sports hall and to the teachers’ management meeting.
In Italy the guidelines were translated into our national languages in order to reach out to as many people as possible.
