Screen to Scratch = Comprehension strategies that students can produce in response to a reading passage or set of questions. Any lined/loose-leaf paper will suffice. The intention is for students to pratice active recall, summarization, synthesis of information, and analysis skills in a standardized format.
Students will have access to working with chatbots on the Frisco ISD approved platform: School AI. Attached to this page are some guidelines about how students should utilize this tool. For anyone curious about the format and utilization of AI, the platform will be linked here to browse and explore:

Please note that more detailed information can always be accessed through the Google Classroom!
When is an appropriate time for students to use AI?
Students may utilize provided AI tools during Independent/Collaborative Work Time, WIN Time, or after-school at home.
Are conversations with AI monitored by school staff?
Yes, School AI transcribes and records any communications between the chatbots and students.
Can teachers detect the use of AI in typed responses?
Yes, teachers are equipped with various tools and authentication features that allow for us to detect the use of AI.
Will AI do my student's work for them?
All student accessible AI platforms are coded with reasonable limitations. For example, students may ask AI for feedback and then receive questions from the chatbot(s) to guide students toward revising and editing their responses.
Though we program AI to limit feedback to questions, we recognize that technology can malfunction. Please check in with your student to ensure that they are producing work that reflects their understanding and mastery of content.
