5th Grade Reading/Writing Teacher
Hello! My name is Kristy Holcomb and I will be teaching 5th grade Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Social Studies! I am so excited that this will be my second year in Frisco ISD at Shawnee Trail, and I’m especially pumped to be in 5th grade! I've taught 4th and 5th for the past years. I graduated from Abilene Christian University with my degree in Elementary Education (GO WILDCATS!), but I have recently enrolled back in graduate college. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Library Science at UNT, as I aspire to be an Elementary School Librarian very soon!! I have a huge passion for reading and I love to introduce my students to books that excite them about reading. I live in the McKinney area right now, and I adore it! I frequently go to libraries, coffee shops, and downtown shops. One fun fact is that I am not the only Holcomb at Shawnee Trail. I’m excited to announce that I have the opportunity to work beside my mother, Deanne Holcomb, who teaches Pre-K. It’s going to be a great year and I’m happy to begin this journey with a whole new bunch of stellar 5th graders!

Candy: Anything Dark Chocolate (especially Lindor truffles) and Peanut M&Ms, and Lifesaver mints
