This unit focuses on using the addition and subtraction strategies of using a number line and Base 10 blocks. In class, students will be learning how to use the number line and Base 10 blocks to add and subtract two digit numbers. They will then apply that strategy with story problems. Please do not teach the standard algorithm to your child, as it is a third grade skill.

Select the number in a counting sequence. Game can be set for any start number and any counting-by sequence.
Add a single digit to a double digit to jump to the next multiple of ten on a number line and destroy a castle. Pull down on the catapult to adjust the number added on the number line. Check "hide jumps" to use mental math. See help video for demo.
