Troubleshooting Tips
Computer frozen?
If it has been more than a minute, you could try a "hard restart."
Hold the power button down until the computer turns off. Wait 10 seconds, then power on.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL LOSE ANY UNSAVED INFORMATION WHEN YOU RESTART.
Wi-Fi not connecting?
Laptops:
First check the "switch" on the side of the computer. Make sure it is turned on and not red.
Not seeing any wireless networks? Try restarting the computer.
Seeing wireless networks? Make sure the password you are entering is correct. Click "Show Password" to see what you are typing.
Desktops do not have WiFi by default. You connect to the internet using a wired "Ethernet" cable.
Add WiFi by purchasing a wireless card from the Free Geek Store.
Battery life on a refurbished computer
On a refurbished computer, battery lifetime won’t be out-of-the-box status. Expect it to have between 70-90% of original capacity.
