Sally Alexander is the award-winning author of 8 children’s books. At the age of 26, while teaching third grade in southern California, she lost her sight completely. She later became a social worker until her children were born. Blindness is a mystery to those who have not experienced it and although Ms. Alexander found the experience devastating and difficult, eventually her life changed in positive ways she had never expected. Being treated differently as a result of her blindness gave her further motivation to speak out. For nearly 30 years, Sally has been writing children’s books and speaking to both young and old about her experiences.
