After learning about gratitude and how it can change your mindset, students were asked to fill out a gratitude journal for three days. Each day they were to write (type) three things they were gratfeul for! Following those three days, students reflected on the following questions:
Was it hard to come up with three things that went well?
If it was, did it become easier on the third day and why?
Did it change your view of your day any?
Above is the gratitude journal template that students fill out for the first three days of the project. They answer the reflection questions at the bottom after the three days. This is created in a Google Doc and a copy is pushed out to each student in itsLearning. Here is a link to the template!
At the completion of the three day gratitude journal, students are then asked to create a project based around their gratitude journal. I provide examples of projects such as the ones below, but they are given the freedom to choose something unique also!
They will document the project, describe what they created, and submit it on itsLearning.
30 Days of Thankfulness Project: Based off of the list above, post a picture on social media that relates to the category of the day and express what the picture means to you and why you are thankful.
Gratitude Letter/Email/Visit: Write a hand-written letter to a person you are grateful to have in your life. If you have time, hand deliver the letter! It will mean so much to the person! Be detailed about what you are grateful for and express all the wonderful qualities about this person and how they personally have affected your life for the better.
The look on their face when the letter is given unexpectedly will be worth it all!
