Lab and Classroom: Our space has been refitted to be purpose built. We have 24 computers. Mr. Hanline has a ClearTouch smart panel in the front of the room that can be extended to a separate 70" monitor as needed to make viewing easier. Our soundstage area has been painted with black walls and ceilings to assist with lighting exercises. We have 6 editing bays, a podcast studio, a control room for our broadcast center, a lockable equipment storage, one as a room for props and other utility purposes, and one serves as a sound lab with an additional closet that has been made into a recording booth.
Safety Rules are posted on the sound lab door and include safe handling of AV equipment. Our fire extinguisher in the foyer of our entrance and has a current inspection tag. Students are instructed in where to find it at the beginning of the year while covering the safety unit. Aside from wiring for our classroom computers, we have not wire that remains out for extended periods of time. All exits are clearly marked and unobstructed and the evacuation plan is posted by the classroom door. Our school is equipped with an office phone system with internal extensions and an outside line. In the event that 911 must be used, an alert is sent to administration with the location of the extension calling, but the call will still be routed to the 911 Emergency System.
2. Storage: Smaller items for Camera, Sound, Lighting and Grip, are located in our locking storage room, while larger items are arranged in assigned spaces in our soundstage area. Student work is archived on a Share Drive facilitated by our county office. No other programs use or can access our share drive.
