Policy for Makeup Work
Make up work is defined as work assigned during a student's absence, not work assigned prior to an absence. The student has five (5) school days upon returning to school to complete make-up work. The teacher has the discretion to grant a longer period to complete the work, if there are extenuating circumstances.

List of assessments by course
AV1- Each unit has quizzes and test as well as a hand-on project to demonstrate mastery of the unit concepts and skills
AV2- Project based productions that have at least two formative deadlines and a final cut deadline. Students self assess in addition to being assessed by Mr. Hanline. Productions may also have a specific focus (i.e. use of lighting, camera movement, ADR/Foley, etc..)
AV3-Project based productions that have at least two formative deadlines and a final cut deadline. Students self assess in addition to being assessed by Mr. Hanline. These productions will incorporate all elements learned in AV 1 and AV 2 and may also be done in conjunction with our advanced Acting class taught by Mr. Kevin Whitley. The current school year is our first attempt at this and is in pre-production as of March 2021.
AV2 and AV3 both use project that are assigned topics and/or original student-made content. This can include but is not limited to: short film, commercials, PSA, live event recording/streaming, podcasting, and any other production-related concepts that come our way
Assessments and Feedback are given on a regular basis
Productions are critiqued for both quality of the final cut as well as the production process. This helps us to not only improve the quality of the final cut of productions but to also refine our filmmaking process to change and improve each time. We feel confident that we almost have our process nailed down to one that helps students know what to best focus their time on as well as being one that keeps productions moving along in an organized and easy-to-schedule way.
Policy in place to save current student work either online , on a video server, or another medium
All student productions are required to archive all of their raw footage and audio on our MAC share drive organized according to class period, project name, shooting date, and file type. All final cuts of the productions must be uploaded to the appropriate Project file.
Each year, Mr. Hanline compiles productions into an individual folder for that school year on the MAC share drive and makes a backup of the same file on a portable hard drive.
