This assignment required each student to take the Occupational Work Ethic Inventory (OWEI) quiz to be provided more insight into their work ethic. The OWEI quiz is divided into three sections in order to provide more accurate feedback to participant. These categories are interpersonal skills, initiative, an dependability. A high interpersonal score reflects an ability to talk to strangers and teammates easily. A high initiative score indicates that student will take advantage of any opportunity offered to them and seek out opportunities when they are not offered. Dependability describes a student's likelihood to be honest, reliable, and on time. Between these three scores, a fairly accurate picture of the student's work ethic is provided.

Although I scored higher than average on each section I will always strive to be better in each area. My initiative score is significantly lower than my other two scored indicating I need to be extremely cautious to use every minute wisely and seek out opportunities to assist the therapists in my mentorship. I will do this by specifically looking for ways to assist any kids in the clinic and asking all therapists is I can do anything to make their job easier. I also noticed my interpersonal score is slightly low. This reminds me to take advantage of the time I am given to ask questions to all of the therapists in the clinic. In the break room I need to be asking questions specifically related to occupational therapy and this will give me insight into my future career. My dependability score is the highest of all three and this year I will strive to continue to be honest, reliable, and on time.

This year I will ensure that my work ethic is a true reflection of my desire to work as an occupational therapist by taking initiative in each opportunity, by developing my interpersonal skills by asking questions, and by continuing to be dependable.
