Assignment 16: Written Proposal Draft

Every since the first week of my internship, I have shadowed sessions for a young boy with severe seizures. This has caused me to question what treatments are available for children with seizures and how collaborative, compassionate care can be used to improve the quality of life for those suffering from seizures. My essential question has not changed from earlier this year and is still: how can I, as an occupational therapist, collaborate with teachers, doctors, families, and patients themselves to determine the best ways to treat patients suffering from seizures? What do successful plans often look like? Other than the website, I envision using a brochure or a pamphlet summarizing what I learn this year as a way to encourage others to successfully manage some seizures. Most of my information for my "real inquiry" will be guided by interviews conducted with therapists, parents, and possibly even teachers and patients themselves.
