See this video (2023) by Sprintax/Turbotax on why nonresident aliens should not use TurboTax.
See TurboTax's answer in their support section.
Nonresident aliens file 1040-NR. The NR stands for "Nonresident."
If you are a nonresident alien and submit IRS Form 1040, you may possibly receive tax credits for which you are not eligible.
If you submit an incorrect form, you must file an amended federal and state income tax return and repay any excess refund you may have received along with penalty and interest.
How do I know my status? Don't file as a resident alien if you are a nonresident alien!
See the information at Status.
Using other tax preparation services
Some products, such as Sprintax, are able to prepare IRS Form 1040-NR.
TurboTax does not prepare nonresident alien personal income tax forms (1040-NR and supporting schedules).
If you want to use other tax preparation websites, confirm that the service can prepare Form 1040-NR for you.
