Nonresident aliens file 1040-NR.
If you are a nonresident alien, you should not submit IRS Form 1040, you may possibly receive tax credits for which you are not eligible.
If you submit an incorrect form, you must file an amended federal and state income tax return and repay any excess refund you may have received along with penalty and interest.
