CRIMINAL HISTORY QUERIES

This is ONLY internal (LCPA). We do not provide secondary dissemination of criminal histories to outside agencies. This form should be completed anytime a criminal history is run in FCIC/NCIC, even if there is no criminal history available or if one was not disseminated. All fields below are required.  

Purpose Codes

• C- Criminal Justice (this code is used for general criminal justice purposes, such as law enforcement investigations)

• J- Criminal Justice Employment (this code  is used for background checks related to employment within the criminal justice system. Criminal histories ran for ride along of a APD or dispatch applicant for current or future employment should also use the purpose code "J".

• F- Firearms Related (this code is used when accessing criminal history records related to firearms inquiries, such as background checks for firearms returns, or firearms in the chekpoint.

• If none of the purpose code is anything other then the ones listed above, contact an AOCC Supervisor immediately prior to running the criminal history.

• Provide a detailed description why the criminal history is being requested/disseminated, e.g. criminal history request on a firearm return for CFS25-00123). Provide a reason even if there was no criminal history available or disseminated. 

List the formats used for the criminal history? e.g - FQI, FCX, QWI, QR (both FQI and QWI are required for all criminal histories, the FCX and QR are dependent of the results from the previous format, see FCIC/NCIC Quick Reference Guide for further.
