Make weekly progress by reading lessons, taking notes on practice problems, and submitting quality assessments.
Aim to submit 2-3 assessments per week (the course is designed for students to complete each segment in 16 weeks).
You need an overall grade of 60% or higher to earn credit for the segment.
You can drop a course within the first 14 days without a penalty.
Dropping a course after the 14-day period could result in a failing grade on your transcript.
If you're unsure about your progress, contact your instructor immediately.
Students must be working in the segment for a minimum of 2 weeks (starting from the first assessment submission date) as FLVS mandates this for all courses before taking a segment exam (seat time requirement).
Communication (calls, emails, texts) will be returned within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). When calling, please leave a voicemail with your name and phone number so the instructor can return your call.
Teachers are required to speak with students once a month minimum and provide parents with a progress update
Progress updates with parents may be written (text or email) if the student is in Good Academic Standing, otherwise it must be a verbal call.
Good Academic Standing: The student has worked in the last 7 days, is less than 4 weeks behind pace, and has a 70% grade or higher.
Use the Pre-Algebra Toolbox for free note-taking guides, practice problems, and videos. It's like 24/7 tutoring!
Live Lessons are available Tues-Thurs each week (except holidays), and recordings are also available.
You can use your notes and lesson materials for assignments, DBAs, and exams.
Always use your own words and submit original work.
Students may NOT use outside sources, apps, answer sites, or AI software for graded assessments.
Our Turn It In screener checks all assessments for integrity.
Teachers are available Mon-Fri from 8 am-8 pm with a 24-hour response time to calls, texts, and emails, and a 48-hour response time for grading.
There may be delays on weekends and holidays, which will be announced on your Home Page.
Students can access the course and course resources 24/7.
DBAs are required oral assessments completed on Zoom or over the phone.
Complete all module work with passing grades before the DBA.
Have your toolbox note guides and DBA study guide ready.
You must pass all DBAs to earn credit.
Work is usually graded within 24 hours, but it may take up to 48 hours.
Feedback is available in your GRADE REPORT (previously GRADEBOOK).
Parents can create an account to monitor student progress.
