Log in to the course by accessing your DASHBOARD and clicking on “COURSE” to enter your Pre-Algebra course.
As you enter the course, the first page you will see is your ANNOUNCEMENTS PAGE or Home Page. There are many resources available to you to help you be successful in the course. During your time in this course, you will use FOUR main pages:
-Table of Contents: This is like your textbook. You will read the lesson for each unit before submitting any work. Ensure that you complete and write out the practice examples. At the end of each lesson, it will explain the assignment to complete.
-Assessments: This is where you will go to submit your assessments in the course.
-Grade Report: This is where you will review feedback about your submitted assignments, resubmit assignments, and see your grade for each assignment.
-Email: Be sure to check your email daily, for class announcements, assignment feedback, or any other communication from your teacher!
Also useful:
-Tools: There are many additional tools that you might find helpful. Please review the information on Academic Integrity, Pace, and the FLVS New Student Information as you get started.
Think of this as your course textbook. Here, you'll read through each lesson to understand what you must do for your assignments. You should always start by reading the lessons first.
After that, you can submit your assignments under ASSESSMENTS.
Segment 1: Begin with Module 1 - 1.01
Segment 2: Begin with Module 4 - 4.01
You can navigate in the Table of Contents by clicking Segment, then Module, then Lesson name. These are listed in order they should be read. Then, within a lesson, you can navigate through different pages using the arrows on the top right.
Take thorough notes of the lesson and practice each example carefully, this is math – practice makes progress! To show mastery, the goal is at least 60% on each assessment.
At the end of each lesson, you will receive directions for completing your assessment(s).
As you read through the lessons, the progress bar at the top will update.
Once you read the lesson, take notes, and review the assessment directions, you will then go to your ASSESSMENTS to submit the assignment or take the quiz for the lesson.
Think of this as your "to-do" list! Once you submit an assignment, it will disappear off of this list.
TIP: It is extremely important that you work in the order of the class! Please do not skip around.
This is where you will review feedback for your submitted assignments and resubmit/reset assignments.
You will see your overall progress, including percent complete, overall grade, the last assignment submitted, etc.
You can also review your grade for each individual assessment, and click on the assessment to see further feedback from your teacher.
You can also resubmit an assignment if you don't do well.
Did you know ...if you aren’t happy with your grade when you submit an assignment, you can resubmit the assignment for a higher grade, not once…but TWICE?!
Here’s How:
Go to your GRADE REPORT and click on the assignment.
Review your teacher’s feedback for the assignment.
Always review the missed questions PRIOR to resetting. Once it is reset, there is NO WAY to bring the work back.
Revise the assignment based on your teacher’s feedback. If it is a quiz, you can “reset” the quiz at the bottom and try it again!
There are always resources at the top of the assessment, be sure to click on the links to access them.
Be sure to check your email daily for class announcements, assignment feedback, or any other communication from your teacher. You can also send an email to your teacher if you have any questions!
