This page has everything you need to know to successfully get into your coursework. You'll learn about your lessons, pace charts, assignments and assessments, gradebook, and live lessons.
You can access your lessons by selecting the "Lessons" link in the Educator toolbar. From there, you will select the assigned lesson using the navigation options at the bottom of the page as indicated by the arrow. Please see your grade level What's Due and pace chart for your assigned lesson.

Sample Specials pace chart
Each FVES course has a pace chart. The pace charts are found on every course in Educator using the Pace Chart link on the Announcement Page. A pace chart shows what assignments are due each week of the semester. Above are two examples of 2nd grade pace charts. As you can see, pace charts will vary by course.
Success tip: It is a great idea to bookmark and print your pace charts for each course.
You will find a list of your assignments by selecting "Assessments" or "Gradebook" in the toolbar. To submit an assignment or take a quiz, you will just click on the assignment. Once an assignment or quiz has been submitted, it will no longer appear under "Assessments". All assignments and quizzes are visible at all times under the "Gradebook" link next to "Assessments".
Your gradebook will show you your current grade, your percentage complete, and a complete list of assignments, quizzes, assessments, and discussion-based assessments that are due in the course for the semester. You can view grading feedback by clicking on a graded assignment.

Grading Scale
Core Class Grading Scale
All students will take the four core classes at FVES: English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Special Area Class Grading Scale
Students in our program will take two elective courses. These electives are not optional and will be posted on the report card each semester. Special course options are: Art, Computer Science, Music, Physical Education, and Spanish.
Live lessons are an important part of all FVES classes. They offer an opportunity to interact with your teacher and classmates and to engage in the curriculum together. You can enter your teacher's Zoom classroom by clicking on the laptop icon on your Announcement Page.
Live lesson attendance and participation is required of all FVES students. Live lesson attendance is how our teachers take attendance. Parent/guardian notification is required as soon as practicable (but no later than 48 hours) of the absence for it to be considered excused.
Before your first live lesson, please follow the instructions below for Zoom authentication (this only needs to be done once). Click HERE for instructions on Zoom authentication.
