If you’ve followed my work for a while, you’ll know that I’ve always taken a whole-body approach to health — looking at nutrition, lifestyle, hormones, gut health and the bigger picture of how your body is functioning.
But over time, one thing has become increasingly clear…
You can have the perfect nutrition plan, the right supplements, and still feel stuck in the same cycles.
And often, that’s because the nervous system hasn’t shifted.
This is exactly why, this May, I’m beginning to integrate Mindfulness-Based Inner Repatterning (MBIR) more deeply into my work — to strengthen the results my clients experience and support change on a deeper level.
So, what is MBIR?
MBIR is a gentle, mindfulness-based approach that works with the body and nervous system to support change from within.
It was developed by Tania Prince and evolved from Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), but it moves beyond traditional talking or tapping approaches.
What makes it different is this:
👉 It doesn’t require you to analyse your problems
👉 It doesn’t require you to revisit your past in detail
👉 It doesn’t rely on “figuring things out” mentally
Instead, it works in the present moment — supporting the body to release patterns in a way that feels safe and natural.
Where does EFT fit into this?
You may have heard of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) — often referred to as “tapping”.
It’s a technique that involves gently tapping on specific points on the body (based on acupuncture meridians) while bringing awareness to a thought, feeling or issue.
Over the years, EFT has gained increasing recognition for its ability to support:
Stress and anxiety reduction
Emotional regulation
Trauma processing
Even physical symptoms linked to stress
There is also a growing body of research showing that EFT can help to reduce cortisol (our primary stress hormone) and support the nervous system in shifting out of a fight-or-flight state.
From a physiological perspective, what’s thought to be happening is this:
👉 The tapping provides a calming sensory input to the body
👉 While attention is placed on the issue, the brain begins to shift its response
👉 Over time, the emotional charge linked to that pattern reduces
In simple terms — the body learns that it is safe.
So how is MBIR different?
MBIR has evolved from EFT, but it takes things one step further.
Rather than focusing on a specific issue or using structured tapping sequences, MBIR works in a more fluid, intuitive and body-led way.
There’s less “doing” and more allowing.
Less focus on the story, and more focus on what the body is experiencing in the present moment.
For many people, this feels even gentler — especially if talking about the issue or trying to “name it” feels overwhelming.
Why I’m bringing this into my work
In clinic, I see this time and time again:
Clients doing all the right things — eating well, taking supplements, trying to manage stress — but still experiencing:
Digestive issues like reflux, bloating or IBS
Hormonal imbalances
Skin flare-ups
Fatigue and burnout
Emotional eating patterns
Alongside the nutrition work, I often bring in elements of Reiki, breathwork and meditation to help clients slow down and support their nervous system.
MBIR feels like a natural next step — a way of deepening this work and supporting change in a more precise and lasting way.
And while nutrition is always foundational, there is often a deeper layer at play… the nervous system.
When the body is in a constant state of stress or protection, it simply isn’t in a place where it can heal.
Bringing MBIR into my work allows us to gently support that shift — so the body can move into a state where healing becomes possible.
How MBIR works (in simple terms)
Rather than focusing on the story, MBIR focuses on what is happening right now.
This might be:
A sensation in the body
A feeling or emotional tone
A subtle sense of tension or discomfort
From there, the process is simple:
We create a sense of safety
We bring gentle awareness to what’s present
We support the body with simple, regulating techniques
We allow the system to shift naturally — without forcing it
There’s no pressure to “get it right” or push through anything.
In fact, the power of this work is in how gentle it is.
What this looks like in practice
This won’t replace the work I already do — it will sit alongside it.
We will still look at:
Nutrition
Blood sugar balance
Gut health
Hormones
Lifestyle and daily habits
But now, alongside that, we’ll also be supporting:
Nervous system regulation
Emotional patterns held in the body
The deeper drivers behind symptoms
Sessions will feel slower, more intuitive, and led by what your body needs in that moment.
Why this matters for your health
Because true healing isn’t just about what you eat.
It’s about whether your body feels safe enough to heal.
When we support the nervous system:
Digestion improves
Hormones begin to regulate
Inflammation can reduce
Energy becomes more stable
Cravings and patterns start to shift
Not through force — but through alignment.
A new layer, not a new direction
This isn’t a complete shift in how I work.
It’s an evolution.
A way of deepening the work we already do together, so that changes aren’t just implemented…
They are actually felt, integrated, and sustained.
A final thought
You don’t need to push harder to get results.
Sometimes, what’s needed isn’t more effort…
But a different approach.
One that works with your body, not against it.
