My classroom thrives on dirty hands and soft hearts. Be prepared to work each day both in and out of the classroom. It takes a lot to keep up with all of our furry critters, but those who find joy in it - find a home in my classroom :)
WELCOMEÂ TOÂ THE ANIMALÂ PATHWAY
Animal Science
Students in animal science class explore basic science concepts focused around livestock animals, engage in hands on learning, and care for the school's animals.Â
Equine Science
Whether you're a true horseman or never touch a horse before, this class teaches you everything about horses from their ancestor to working and riding skills.
Vet Science
Veterinary science focuses on training students to work as veterinary assistants. The students develop work related skills and run the Ruff Cuts dog grooming service.
Ruff Cuts is a student ran dog grooming service that the veterinary science students offer to both members of the school and the community. The Vet students spend the first couple months of school completing trainings to work on their grooming skills, then take on a set number of dogs each week as a fundraiser.
Farm Eggs
With nearly 40 laying hens making up our chicken coop, the animal science students offer farm fresh eggs to the community daily. Members of the school and community have the opportunity to either buy eggs from us directly or take part in our farm stand program which gives out eggs to those in need.Â
Animal Rescue
Many of the animals housed in the High School Ag Barn are rescues which the students of the animal pathway have helped to care for and rehabilitate. This is "Honky Tonk" - a donkey that was left by his owners for months and had never been handled by humans. Today he works at the school as a livestock protector.Â
