Allied Health Core Skills

An exciting class for those interested in the healthcare field. Students get "real world" opportunities while completing an internship at Fleming County Hospital.

Allied Health Core Skills provides in-class, and hand's-on, instruction. Students learn to take vital signs, learn to communicate with various types of patients, learn infection control measures, and so much more. This class has a lot to offer to those students who know they want to work in the healthcare field but are uncertain of what that might be. Our goal is to help the students find their path in life.

Future Health Professionals

Students get the opportunity to join HOSA and learn more about their future potential in a warm and welcoming environment. The goal of HOSA is to get students to partner with our community and do their part to help others. Some of their exciting partnerships:

Students handed out candy to children on Halloween.
They partnered with the Lions Club and collected 175 pairs of eye glasses to help those in need.
They collected toiletry items for the residents at our local nursing home.
Students brought in gently used clothing, toys, and small household items for the Ion Center for Violence Prevention.
They partnered with AHEC to dissect sheep hearts on Valentine's Day.
