As of the 2023-2024 school year, the enrollment process can be completed electronically using an online registration form. All relevant forms and documentation can be provided through the online form.
Kindergarten: Begins April 1, 2025

Preschool: Begins March 1, 2025, and Ends March 31, 2025
Please review the Preschool page for more information before you enroll your child! Your enrollment must be complete by March 31 in order to be selected for an open seat or waitlisted. After completing the online enrollment forms, it is the parent's or guardian's responsibility to check with the Enrollment Department to ensure the enrollment is complete.
Grades 1-8: Begins June 1, 2025
Grades 9-12: Begins May 1, 2025
Prior to beginning the process, please review and print the checklist below and utilize it to ensure you have acquired the required documentation. This checklist is for your records only and does not need to be returned to us.
Before completing the online enrollment form, please review the Preschool webpage for additional information. Click here to go to the Preschool webpage or select it from the menu at the top of this page.
The enrollment window for Preschool for the 2025-2026 school year will open on March 1, 2025, and close on March 31, 2025. Only enrollments completed by the end of this window will be eligible for open seats in the Preschool classrooms. After completing the online enrollment, it is the parent's or guardian's responsibility to check with the Enrollment Department to ensure the enrollment is complete. If more enrollments are received than total seats, those not selected will be waitlisted. If more seats are available, another enrollment window may be opened.
Follow the instructions below to create a Parent Portal account and enroll your child online. If you are already a Fitchburg Public Schools parent/guardian and have a Parent Portal account, you may skip the Create your account step found in the instructions below.
All required or optional documentation can be provided by uploading them to the online enrollment form. Scanned PDF documents are preferred - photos can be blurry and illegible. If you do not have access to a scanner, there are scanner apps available for most smartphone users. Click here for a list of available scanner apps.
If none of these options work for you, please contact the Enrollment Center to schedule an appointment to bring your documents in person. All documents provided in-person will be scanned/copied and returned to you.
Click here to go to the Parent Portal login page. On the Parent Portal login page, select the Request an account option. Then, choose the I am a parent new to the district option to begin your account creation.
After filling out your personal account information, you will receive a confirmation email to the email you provided. Click on the confirmation link in the email you received to activate your account. Once activated, you will be able to log into your Parent Portal account using the email address linked to your account and the password you set during account creation.
Once logged into your new Fitchburg Parent Portal account, you will see a Click here to register a new student option on Pages tab. Click on the link to be transferred to the enrollment system.
Next, while in the enrollment system, you will click on the +Register New Student button to begin completing the online enrollment forms for your child.
The online enrollment forms should take an estimated 10-15 minutes to complete per child. If you need to stop and finish at a later time, you have the option to save the form and return to it at any time using the Save & Return to Home button at the top of the page. Once all pages of the forms have been completed, the last page will have a Submit Form button. Click this button to complete your child’s enrollment.
Do note that most questions on the forms are required, and if a required question is missed, then an error message will pop up when you attempt to move to the next page or submit the form.
After submitting the online forms, the Enrollment Center will review it and contact you as soon as they have either confirmed that your child’s enrollment has been processed or if they have follow-up questions.
