From July 1-August 15, Summer Hours are 8AM-4PM for the Enrollment Center and 7AM-3PM for the High School Registrar. Fridays we are closed!
All changes of address are processed at the district level, not the individual school, to ensure the information is accurately processed in our student information system. Understand that it is crucial to follow the Change of Address process to ensure that your child is properly assigned to a new bus route and can receive any important mailings from the school.
To change your address with the district, please email all necessary Proof of Residency documents to the Enrollment Center at fpsenrollment@fitchburg.k12.ma.us with "Change of Address" in the subject line. Please also include your child's name, date of birth, and school they are currently attending in the body of the email.
Please review the list of acceptable documents and provide at least one to the Enrollment Center. All Proof of Residency documents must be dates within the last 60 days and be in the name of a legal parent or guardian. If you may qualify for McKinney-Vento services and are unable to provide any of the following, please contact the district's McKinney-Vento liaison, whose contact information can be found here.
Unitil Bill (gas/electric)
Cable Bill (Comcast, Direct TV, Dish, or FIOS)
Lease Agreement
Mortgage Statement
Purchase and Sale Agreement (front page indicating name and address)
Home Telephone Bill (cellular bill not accepted)

Notarized Residency Affidavit - only to be printed and completed if living with family or friends and do not have any of the above-listed documents in your name. Note that one of the above-listed documents must accompany the notarized residency affidavit.
Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 76, Section 5, states, “…No School Committee is required to enroll a person who does not actually reside in the town unless said enrollment is authorized by law or by the School Committee. Any person who violates or assists in the violation of this provision may be required to remit full restitution to the town of the improperly-attended public schools…”
Families who move outside of the City of Fitchburg must complete all necessary withdrawal paperwork with the school their child is enrolled in. See the Withdrawing Student page for more details.
