High school students have opportunities to get involved in the art making community in and outside of the classroom.
In the fall semester, Art 2+ students are given the opportunity to attend a High School Art Seminar at Parkland College. This day includes a campus tour and two art making workshops.
In the spring semester, all art students are given the opportunity to make art for the HOIC Art Festival. This event includes a virtual gallery of all submitted work (15 pieces per HOIC school), a 2 week physical art show for select work (5 pieces per HOIC school), and the Art Festival (campus/gallery tours, art making workshops, keynote speaker).
