The Fenton Academies provide a variety of after school programming, both directly with our own teaching staff, as well as with some fantastic partner organizations. We are excited to provide a comprehensive list of high-quality free programs to all students, which are available every day until 5:30 pm. Click on the icons below to view a variety of clubs that are designed to "SPARC" your scholar's interests! Based on student requests, staff requests, and new partnerships, our program offerings will continue to grow!
Students will have an opportunity to engage with a different animal each class. They will learn about the animal, and be taught how to appropriately interact with it. Then, they will engage in an art project featuring the animal or participate in a fun animal-related game!
Young scholars will learn animation concepts and be introduced to computer software to create their very own digital animations! Media arts classes introduce students to state of the art platforms that help them create digital art. They get to explore and deepen their practice with individual and group learning. Students will gain practical skills to create and distribute their work.
Dive into the colorful and dynamic world of anime! The Anime Club is a place for fans of Japanese animation to come together and celebrate their favorite shows, movies, and characters. Each week, we'll watch and discuss different anime series, explore manga, and learn about the cultural influences behind this vibrant art form. Whether you're a seasoned otaku or new to anime, everyone is welcome to join in the fun and share their love for all things anime!
Unleash your creativity and explore the endless possibilities of arts and crafts! From DIY projects and upcycling to handmade gifts and home decor, this course offers a diverse array of creative activities for all skill levels. Learn to work with different materials such as paper, fabric, clay, and recycled items as you bring your artistic visions to life.
Students investigate various control systems to obtain a better understanding of operating equipment. They learn to minimize human intervention, and to protect the environment by saving energy and materials, and improving quality, accuracy and precision. Our courses support the Common Core standards in S.T.E.M.
Students will receive instruction in region-specific Folkorico dance with accompanying music. As our dancers learn more about this beautiful style of dance, they will be preparing for a performance!
Cheer class emphasizes fitness with warm-ups, stretching, and cheerleading techniques. We will cover the importance of teamwork while working on choreography, basic tumbling, and stunts. You’ll get to show your spirit while building confidence and self-esteem.
Throughout the program, Students investigate a number of fascinating and astonishing worlds by learning coding. Coding helps kids develop important 21st-century skills like problem-solving, design thinking, collaboration, and more.
Kids will tantalize their taste buds and have fun with food! Explore different recipes each week including appetizers, snacks, desserts, lunch-style entrees and more! Learn about nutrition, dining etiquette, and cooperation skills in this scrumptious class! (If your child has already participated in this high-demand class, we kindly request not signing up again, so that other students may be selected.)
Crochet Club, where creativity and crafting come together! This club offers a fun and relaxing environment for learning the art of crocheting. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, you'll enjoy creating your own handmade projects, from cozy scarves to cute little creatures. It's a great way to develop patience, fine motor skills, and a sense of accomplishment.
Join a dance class that focuses on basic techniques for hip-hop, grooves, and k-pop. In this class, students will be introduced to basic hip-hop, grooves, and K-pop fundamentals/ workouts. These include: dance vocabulary and basic positions of the feet and arms. Students will be exposed to dance classroom etiquette.Team work, games, and dance combinations will enhance cognitive & social development.
Do you miss playing with the toys and games you loved in TK and Kindergarten? Hop aboard The Imagination Station, where we bring back your favorite toys and dive into exciting activities! In this club, you'll build with blocks, play with dolls, create art, and do fun crafts—all while making new friends and becoming part of a creative, supportive community. Whether you're designing a cool structure, making a colorful art project, or having fun with old toys, you'll find plenty of ways to express yourself and enjoy time with others. Let’s play, create, and imagine together!
Expand your horizons and embrace the beauty of language with our Introduction to Foreign Languages course! Whether you're interested in Spanish, French, Mandarin, or beyond, this course offers a fun and interactive introduction to new languages and cultures. Learn basic vocabulary, grammar, and conversational phrases through engaging activities, games, and cultural immersion experiences.
Kids Dance Studio provides an encouraging environment to explore movement through choreography and games! In this fun and safe atmosphere, students will practice exciting dance steps and challenging combinations, helping them learn to control and coordinate their bodies. Sharing new ideas and ways to move, students will work together to produce entertaining, choreographed routines!
Each week, little builders will explore creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork through exciting Lego adventures and projects.
We introduce children to the wonderful world of music! Students will listen, play, craft, dance, and sing as they learn about an assortment of instruments including the violin, flute, trumpet, keyboard, guitar, and more! Each student also receives their own Flutophone to take home at the end of the session. Join us!
Young photographers will pick up the camera and learn how to truly capture some amazing photographs. This class provides age-appropriate instruction and guidance in the fundamentals of photography and how to produce photographic images using a variety of mediums.
In this hands-on class, students will design and build their own unique puppets using a variety of materials like felt, fabric, foam, and recycled items. From sock puppets to marionettes, the possibilities are endless! But the fun doesn’t stop there—participants will also learn the basics of puppet manipulation, voice acting, and storytelling to stage a mini puppet performance at the end of the class.
It's a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in critical thinking and problem-solving while having fun.
Here are a few reasons why joining the Puzzle Club can be beneficial for our students. Puzzles can enhance cognitive skills, encourage logical reasoning, and improve memory. This club will foster teamwork! Working together on puzzles helps develop collaboration and communication skills. Puzzles also help boost confidence! Completing challenging puzzles gives kids a sense of accomplishment. Lastly, puzzling will encourage creativity, as students will be able to explore different strategies and approaches to solve problems.
In this club, students will have the opportunity to work with Spike Prime Robots. They will learn how to program, design, and make robots with a variety of tools and platforms. At the end of the course, students may participate in the Rally in the Valley Robotics competition.

Ready, set, blast off! Explore the universe as we launch everything from Film Canister Rockets to Water Bottle Blasters, Hoopster gliders, and much more! Our adventures will take us through the solar system and beyond as we learn about comets, constellations, and our galaxy! This class is out of this world!
Bright Minds, Bright Futures: 2nd Grade Homework Club!
Calling all second graders! If you need help with your homework, or just want a nice quiet space to complete it, this is the place for you. Join Homework Club so that you can be a super scholar.
Come join us to learn about and play the most popular computer game on the planet! Learn Minecraft building techniques, details of command blocks, and how to change the look of the game. Kids learn strategy, team building, and cooperation skills while playing Minecraft in a fun, safe, and supervised environment!
Calling Fenton Academies youngest scholars! Mrs. Gentry and Mrs. Mack welcome you to join TK & Kindergarten Friendship Club. Friendship Club will be a safe space for students to play and work cooperatively with new friends across the Academies.
In this engaging club, students will learn the fundamentals of volleyball, including teamwork, technique and strategy, all while promoting health and fitness!
Yoga and Mindfulness will teach the students new exercises for their bodies and their minds. Students will learn breathing exercises, mindfulness strategies, and learn new stretches to get their bodies moving! They also get the opportunity to slow down and learn the importance of their breath in the regulation of their emotions, helping enhance their social-emotional well-being.
Come join our Jr. Medical School! Learn about CPR, first aid techniques, how to check blood pressure, pulse and respiration, and even how to apply a sling! Experience hands-on activities using all sorts of medical instruments including stethoscopes, thermometers, and more!
