The Fenton Academies provide a variety of after school programming, both directly with our own teaching staff, as well as with some fantastic partner organizations. We are excited to provide a comprehensive list of high-quality free programs to all students, which are available every day until 5:30 pm. Click on the icons below to view a variety of clubs that are designed to "SPARC" your scholar's interests! Based on student requests, staff requests, and new partnerships, our program offerings will continue to grow!

Students will have an opportunity to engage with a different animal each class. They will learn about the animal, and be taught how to appropriately interact with it. Then, they will engage in an art project featuring the animal or participate in a fun animal-related game!
Young scholars will learn animation concepts and be introduced to computer software to create their very own digital animations! Media arts classes introduce students to state of the art platforms that help them create digital art. They get to explore and deepen their practice with individual and group learning. Students will gain practical skills to create and distribute their work.

Cartooning is a great way to learn how to sketch and draw. You will learn to create your own characters as well as popular characters from Disney, Anime, and more! Learn about storylines, design, coloring, and lettering, as you create your very own comic book!

Calling all students interested in dance! Students in this club will learn basic ballet concepts and participate in weekly ballet classes. We will begin working on our first performance right away and there are opportunities for weekend rehearsals. Students are provided ballet shoes and costume pieces!

Whether or not you have played them all or are interested in learning how to play board game club is for you! During our club time we will introduce how to play with others, how to lose, how to win, and have a lot of fun in between!

Come and join the Fenton Academies Chess Club. All students will be able to compete in tournaments with knowledge of (USCF) US Chess Federation rules, openings, middle game, and end game theory. The end-of-year chess champion will receive a trophy and their name will be placed on the Chess Plaque in the main lobby. Join now!

Dance + movement classes provide not just physiological benefits but help develop healthy self-expression, provides an energy outlet, and improves students' self-perceptions. Non-verbal communications skills are enhanced, and stress and anxiety are reduced. Students are provided a safe space for creative expression, and have the opportunity engage in diverse forms of dance.

TK/K After School Resting & Enrichment is for TK and Kinder students who are unable to be picked up at normal dismissal time. This club will provide students a place to rest and recover from their long school day in a safe, fun, and enriching environment. Students will experience read alouds, stretching, playtime, art projects, music, and more!

Attention environmentalists! The Fenton Academies Environmental Club is a group of students and teachers that are dedicated to raising awareness about issues related to the health of our planet. We will raise awareness about environmental topics such as recycling, pollution, wild animal protection, and environmentally-friendly gardening. Our goal is to have a positive impact as individuals, a school community, and as citizens of the planet Earth.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a homework hero! 6th grade is full of lots of new learning: math, science, social studies, oh my! Calling all 6th graders to come join our safe, quiet, welcoming environment to receive support and tutoring in math and other 6th grade homework.

Come join hula club! We will learn some dances that are performed on the beautiful islands of Hawaii! Keiki's (kids) will learn the Hawaiian language, instruments and culture! There will also be a hula performance!! Come join this fun club to become a hula dancer and meet some new friends!

Students will study the basic principles of modern digital broadcasting and journalism adnd its importance in today's society. Students will learn how to write articles, create digital content, and share their work on social media and school newsletters.

Kids will tantalize their taste buds and have fun with food! Explore different recipes each week including appetizers, snacks, desserts, lunch-style entrees and more! Learn about nutrition, dining etiquette, and cooperation skills in this scrumptious class!

Students are introduced to technology platforms that help them create, distribute, and archive their work. Are you an animal lover? Do you want to help animals at our local shelters? Then join our Mutt-I-Grees club! Students in this club will be the Fenton Academies National Mutt-I-Grees Ambassadors working closely with Burbank Animal Shelter promoting cats and kittens that need to be adopted! There are opportunities for hands on experience with adoptable cats and kittens!

Science of Sport develops interdisciplinary STEM curriculum and programming that is inclusive to all learners. We make education relevant through hands-on, minds-on learning. By incorporating sports examples, we inspire lifelong educational and social-emotional skills. l skills.

Develop your soccer skills in this fun, educational, and active class! Students will learn the basics of each position and basic soccer strategies as they practice their shooting, dribbling, passing, defending, and ball control skills all while emphasizing character development, sportsmanship, and teamwork. GOOOOOOOOOAL!

Speed, agility, and quickness (SAQ) training will help students improve performance for sports and other physically demanding activities. It will allow them to perform explosive multi-directional movements and they are often integrated in other sports drills such as soccer drills. Students will have the opportunity to experience drills such as side shuffling, lateral ladders, and cone drills (to improve performance). If your child strives to become a student-athlete, this club is for them!

The Fenton Academies are pleased to offer an exciting leadership opportunity for our fourth, fifth and sixth grade students! The Student Council will focus on building leadership skills through facilitating and participating in school wide activities, such as assemblies, fundraisers, and other important events.
Student Council provides students with an opportunity to advocate for themselves and others. Students who participate will develop their independence, collaboration, critical thinking and communication skills.

Learn the frontend end and backend of mobile game and app development! Students will create their own games like Mole Mash, Galaga, and build up to more challenging and original games. Ready, set, go!

Somatics emphasizes the connection between the mind and the body, with a focus on balancing the two to achieve overall wellness. This is achieved through a variety of exercises or practices, yoga of which is the most popular. Somatic practices, like yoga, help students understand these mind-body connections and help to reduce stress and anxiety. They also get the opportunity to slow down and learn the importance of their breath in the regulation of their emotions, helping enhance their social-emotional well-being.
