The Fenton Academies provide a variety of after school programming, both directly with our own teaching staff, as well as with some fantastic partner organizations. We are excited to provide a comprehensive list of high-quality free programs to all students, which are available every day until 5:30 pm. Click on the icons below to view a variety of clubs that are designed to "SPARC" your scholar's interests! Based on student requests, staff requests, and new partnerships, our program offerings will continue to grow!

3D Printing and Design provides students introductory skills to learn the art and technique of 3D design. Students will design and print practical objects like keychains, jewelry, and holiday decorations. As students advance, they will move onto intricate concepts and ambitious projects like crafting personalized smartphone covers and innovative tablet stands.

Students will have an opportunity to engage with a different animal each class. They will learn about the animal, and be taught how to appropriately interact with it. Then, they will engage in an art project featuring the animal or participate in a fun animal-related game!

Young scholars will learn animation concepts and be introduced to computer software to create their very own digital animations! Media arts classes introduce students to state of the art platforms that help them create digital art. They get to explore and deepen their practice with individual and group learning. Students will gain practical skills to create and distribute their work.

Calling all students interested in dance! Students in this club will learn basic ballet concepts and participate in weekly ballet classes. We will begin working on our first performance right away and there are opportunities for weekend rehearsals. Students are provided ballet shoes and costume pieces!

Develop your basketball skills in this fun, educational, and active class! Students will learn the fundamentals of each position and basic basketball strategies as they hojne their shooting, dribbling, passing, defening, and ball control skills! Our emphasis is on sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development. This class is a slam dunk!

Calling all new or returning chess students. Chess students will be able to successfully compete in tournament-style competitions with knowledge of opening, middle game, end game strategy, and rules. A chess tournament is held in April, and the year's champion will be awarded and their name placed on a Chess Champion Plaque in the school's lobby.

Kids will tantalize their taste buds and have fun with food! Explore different recipes each week including appetizers, snacks, desserts, lunch-style entrees and more! Learn about nutrition, dining etiquette, and cooperation skills in this scrumptious class!

Crochet Club, where creativity and crafting come together! This club offers a fun and relaxing environment for learning the art of crocheting. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, you'll enjoy creating your own handmade projects, from cozy scarves to cute little creatures. It's a great way to develop patience, fine motor skills, and a sense of accomplishment.

Lights, Camera, Action! In this club, students will unleash their inner actor/actress! They will practice their public speaking skills, as well as gain confidence to ultimately participate in a performance!

Do you want to practice some sewing skills? Do you have a passion for fashion? Students will receive instruction in the basics of fashion design, including hand sewing and fabric manipulation; lower grades (K-2) will focus on hand sewing; upper grades (3-6) will make use of machine sewing.

During friendship bracelet club students will explore making new friends and socializing in a safe guided environment. Students will be able to create friendship bracelets using different techniques and patterns while working collaboratively with classmates. Student will understand the purpose of a friendship bracelet. Learning basic bracelet-making techniques, exploring different patterns, and practicing communication and collaboration skills within the club setting. All while engaging students by introducing them to a positive experience where they are making new friends.

The Academies after-school garden club will provide a great way for students to learn about gardening and gain hands-on experience growing their own food, and tasting the fruits (and vegetables!) of their labor. They will learn healthy eating habits through mother nature.

In this unique course students will explore green energy, air pressure, solar technology, and other systems using natural forces such as wind and water flow. Each model will introduce a challenge the students must solve using green energy technology.
*Kids will take home every model built throughout the course.

Join a dance class that focuses on basic techniques for hip-hop, grooves, and k-pop. In this class, students will be introduced to basic hip-hop, grooves, and K-pop fundamentals/ workouts. These include: dance vocabulary and basic positions of the feet and arms. Students will be exposed to dance classroom etiquette.Team work, games, and dance combinations will enhance cognitive & social development.

Learn all about Dinosaurs in this engaging hands-on class! Explore the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous eras through all sorts of project-based activities! Excavating a baby dino from an egg, dissecting an owl pellet, and measuring up to the length of a dinosaur are just some of the Jurassic FUN in this epic adventure!

In this class, students learn to use logic and other rhetorical tools to support their positions and to express themselves succinctly and skillfully. Students learn to walk and talk with assuredness and purpose, overcome jitters, and deliver speeches with confidence and animation!

Do you want to master your multiplication facts? Multiplication is foundational to math skills and mastering it helps ensure that students master math for years to come. However, multiplication is learned much more easily in a fun environment where students can learn through play. This club will have students doing weekly multiplication drills, playing multiplication games, and much more.

Want to train like a ninja? In this fitness class, students test their might by training in martial arts techniques, stealth skills, parkour, obstacle courses, and mindfulness. Learn new facts about ninjas each week while engaging in Ninja FUN!

Board games, puzzles, and coloring can help students develop cognitive abilities like problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills. Many games and puzzles demand collaboration, making them great tools for teaching students about teamwork. School can be stressful, and board games can offer students a much-needed break. The no-tech club will teach students how to play with others, get them off technology, and connect with others.

Scratch Jr provides kids with the fundamental knowledge of computer programming usign an introductory coding language. Young learners will unleash their creativity by crafting interactive collages, animated stories, and simple games by dragging and dropping colorful blocks of code!

Hola! Young scholars will have an opportunity to develop their language skills as they embark on a journey of Spanish learning! They will not only learn key words and phrases, but also practice conversing with one another. This is sure to be a fun and engaging opportunity for all!

The Fenton Academies are pleased to offer an exciting leadership opportunity for our fourth, fifth and sixth grade students! The Student Council will focus on building leadership skills through facilitating and participating in school wide activities, such as assemblies, fundraisers, and other important events.
Student Council provides students with an opportunity to advocate for themselves and others. Students who participate will develop their independence, collaboration, critical thinking and communication skills.

Calling Fenton Academies youngest scholars! Mrs. Gentry and Mrs. Mack welcome you to join TK & Kindergarten Friendship Club. Friendship Club will be a safe space for students to play and work cooperatively with new friends across the Academies.

Yoga and Mindfulness will teach the students new exercises for their bodies and their minds. Students will learn breathing exercises, mindfulness strategies, and learn new stretches to get their bodies moving! They also get the opportunity to slow down and learn the importance of their breath in the regulation of their emotions, helping enhance their social-emotional well-being.
