Teams of two students will participate in a challenge that uses potential energy to move their created item forward.
Teams will apply principles of physics and engineering, such as energy transfer, force, friction, torque, and mechanical advantage to maximize performance.
Teams must have a thorough understanding of simple machines and how to function.
Designs should emphasize efficiency and thoughtful construction, as even small adjustments can significantly affect results.
Throughout the process, teams will be encouraged to test, iterate, and refine their designs, generating different problem-solving strategies.
Teams will have a total of 1 ¼ hour build time
Criteria for winning will be distance. The furthest distance wins.
