1 Team 2 Students
In the "Energy Bar Exploration" competition, middle school students will develop the concept, market, and brand a healthy energy bar using readily available ingredients. They begin by exploring nutrition guidelines, creating their "World's Healthiest Energy Bar," and then proceed to design Nutrition Facts labels. Students present their energy bar products, showcasing their understanding of nutrition, marketing, branding, and presentation skills through creative presentations and product development. Students will bring their box designed and four bars wrapped for marketing.
PLEASE NOTE: Students may use Krispy treats or any other bar of their choice. There is NO expectation to bring a homemade energy bar, however that is at the discretion of each team. IF students choose to bring displays or other marketing materials, that is allowed. However, judging will be consistent for EACH team using the criteria listed below (in red).
KEY POINTS - RUBRIC
Particpants will prepare and bring the following items to the Contest:
1. Marketing Materials for their Energy Bar (Examples: Slide Presentation, Marketing Flyer or Science Fair Type Display)
2. Energy Bar Package (Self constructed Box Construction Template, OR provided from CTE 50 from amazon. It will be designed by hand, with the slides template provided, or ANY multimedia available software. )
