This standard involves the nuts and bolts of educational leadership. Standard 9 explores the things that we often take for granted (budgets, discipline plans, student code of conduct, etc..) and places them inside of a school leadership context. The reality is that a school cannot function without a leadership dedicated to logistics, management, and school operations, and effective leaders realize that. The artifacts that I've included below demonstrate my involvement in multiple areas of school operations. The Heading to High School document helps our current 8th-grade families understand the realities ahead when they start high school in the fall. Our collaboration with Sandy Creek High School illustrates our willingness to develop and maintain relationships with schools in our feeder pattern (9I). The Progressive Discipline Plan shows our willingness to prevent teachers' work and learning from disruption (9E). The Math Department Supply Request Form is something I created as the department chair to streamline resource needs and employ technology to improve the quality and efficiency of operations and management (9F). Lastly, the Educational Policy Analysis Presentation analyzes the new K-12 Mathematics Standards from a citizen's perspective and examines the research literature involving new standards policies and implementation. We will be implementing a discipline procedure that will be in place for the remainder of the year; it may seem new as we have not used it yet as a team but it has been utilized on teams throughout the school. As a team, we collaborated with the administration about how better to keep track of the rising discipline issues occurring on our team (Field Experience)
