This standard deals with the concept of professional knowledge, learning, and capacity. This standard involves the engine behind curriculum and instruction, which is professional capacity. This standard challenges leaders to staff the right people and equip them with the tools necessary to promote professional success. The artifacts that I've included in this standard are listed below. The Annual UCEA Convention demonstrated my ability to maintain a healthy work-life balance by attending an out-of-town conference for my graduate studies (6I). The South Metro Leadership Conference hosted by Griffin-RESA was an opportunity for me to become empowered and motivated to improve my professional practice (6E). The Virtual Career Fair was a prime opportunity for me to recruit and hire caring staff (6A), the Equity-Capacity Building Plan outlines the steps necessary to advocate equity principles and includes the support necessary for teacher leadership (6G).
The 35th Annual UCEA Convention theme, Emerging Stronger: Reuniting to Advance Educational Leadership, is an opportunity to join together after an unprecedented time of isolation and loss (Field Experience)
The Griffin RESA / South Metro Leadership Conference will be held as the 12th annual event of this kind and the only such event in this region. Please regard this message as a welcome to the conference which has a theme of “Improving Performance through Effective Leadership. (Field Experience)
The Fayette County Educator Career Fair will be held on THURSDAY, JANUARY 27. The fair will be held virtually, and representatives from all schools will be available to talk with you about positions for the upcoming school year. Elementary representatives will be available from 3:15-5:15 p.m., and middle/high school representatives from 4:00-6:00 p.m. (Field Experience)
Your supervisor is concerned about the lack of understanding in the staff around issues of cultural diversity and equity. She has tasked you with increasing their capacity in these areas. Your supervisor wants a succinct plan (a “curriculum” or pacing guide of sorts) for how you will increase their capacity by the end of next school year, and she wants you to present that plan to the leadership team.
