My name is Mr. Nateil (Nuh-Teel) Carby, and I’m currently a second-year doctoral student in the Educational Leadership Program at Georgia State University. I was born and raised in South Florida, and I currently live with my wife and two sons in Fayette County, Georgia. This year I will celebrate my tenth year in education as a middle-school mathematics instructor. Since 2016, I’ve served as a privileged member of our schools’ STEAM initiative and I currently serve as the mathematics department chair.
My research focus is on business and community partnerships because I believe in the power of networks. I believe that social connections are powerful and those connections can provide genuine, authentic, and holistic educational experiences for our children. Community networks add value to education and I hope to learn more about the intersections of leadership, social capital, and educational experiences in my future research. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, boxing, and New York-style cheesecake.
