This standard is concerned with the ethical decisions involved in educational leadership. The performance indicators outlined in the standard have implications ranging from budgets and school finance to TKES and instructional leadership. At the heart of Standard 2 is the student's best interests, and effective leaders center their decision-making around what's best for kids. In the artifacts below, I've demonstrated the principle of good stewardship (2A) by proposing a 2022-2023 departmental budget that reflects the needs of our students and teachers. I've promoted the norms of integrity, fairness, trust, and transparency (2B) by including a video recording of one of our monthly math department meetings. I've included a link to our 2021 Meet the Teacher Presentation to demonstrate leadership with sound interpersonal and communication skills (2E). Lastly, I've included a course assignment, Mathematics Achievement for Students with Disabilities to demonstrate how leaders can expose teachers to an area of instruction that needs improvement, but follow-up with an action plan that accepts responsibility for each student's academic success and well-being (2C).
