About Welding:
Description: Southside's most popular program is Welding! The Welding program teaches students beginner and advanced techniques for welding and provides the opportunity for students to earn multiple industry certifications in one of the area's most marketable skills. Students are able to master welding strategies including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) processes. These courses will also help students develop skills and knowledge in oxygen-acetylene cutting, welding and brazing, and metal fabrication, all of which are relevant to the demands of a multitude of industries. Students can earn dual credit or articulated credit through BCTC.
