Programming at the French American School of Denver
Welcome to the French American School of Denver’s Gifted and Talented program.
At FASD, gifted programming is designed to ensure that students are consistently challenged and supported within their daily classroom experience. Our approach combines academic rigor, social-emotional development, and real-world learning to help students grow as confident, capable thinkers.
Identified GT/HGT students have Advanced Learning Plans (ALPs) that include one academic goal and one social-emotional goal. These plans are developed in collaboration with families and teachers and are used to guide instruction throughout the year. Progress is monitored and shared regularly.
Gifted services are delivered through a classroom-based model, where teachers provide differentiation to meet student needs. The GT Coordinator partners with teachers to support planning, provide resources, and facilitate enriched learning experiences.
Students engage in meaningful learning opportunities that emphasize depth, critical thinking, and real-world application, including project-based learning and school-wide enrichment experiences such as Destination Imagination, Science Fair, and Shakespeare Festival.
Students who show strong potential but are not yet formally identified may be monitored through the Talent Pool. These students are supported through classroom differentiation and ongoing observation to ensure their strengths are recognized and nurtured.
At FASD, we believe every child deserves to be seen, challenged, and supported to reach their full potential — en français et en anglais.
