Game Notes

The Franklin & Marshall field hockey team (8-3, 4-0 CC), a team receiving votes in the National rankings, plays two Centennial Conference matches this week. The Diplomats host Dickinson (1-10, 0-5 CC) at Tylus Field Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. F&M will then play Swarthmore (8-3, 3-1 CC) Saturday at 4:00 p.m. on the road.

Last Week

F&M cruised to a 5-0 win over Haverford Wednesday afternoon. Sophie Carroll tallied five points (two goals, one assist) in the contest. Keira Boensch, Carolina Riley, and Jessica Miller also scored in the game. F&M sent 19 shot attempts with 13 on net. Read the recap here.

The Diplomats carried momentum into their game against Washington College Saturday afternoon, defeating the Shorewomen 2-0. Jessica Miller scored the first goal of the game in the third quarter on a pass from Amelia McCarthy. Kat Study padded the lead blasting a loose ball into the back of the net three minutes into the fourth quarter. The victory was the fifth win in a row for F&M. Read the recap here.

Last Time

Dickinson defeated F&M 2-1 during its matchup in 2021. Jessica Miller scored the Diplomats' lone goal in the contest. Miller and Kat Study led the F&M offense, tallying two shots on goal each. Read the recap here.

F&M last defeated Dickinson in 2019 in a 2-0 victory. Erin Coverdale '19 recorded three points in the win, assisting on Lily Mynott's '20 goal before scoring her own in the second quarter. Darby Klopp also picked up an assist in the win. Read the recap here.

F&M beat Swarthmore 3-1 during the 2021 campaign. Swarthmore held a 1-0 lead after one quarter, but the Diplomats scored two goal in the second quarter to take over the lead. Carolina Riley and Lauren Mumby helped give F&M the lead. Jessica Miller added onto the Diplomat lead with a strike in the third quarter. Riley totaled three points in the contest. Dickinson Team Preview

After winning their second game of the season, the Red Devils have gone on a nine-game losing streak. Abby Marthins leads Dickinson in points (nine) and assists (five) this season. Goalkeeper Saige Stevens has a 2.45 goals-against average and a save percentage of 70 percent.

Swarthmore Team Preview

The Garnet carry a four-game winning streak into Saturday's game, with three of their last four wins coming against CC opponents. Their only conference loss came in a 1-0 game against No. 6 Johns Hopkins on September 24. Martina Kampel leads the team in points (16) and assists (six), and is tied for the most goals on the team with five. Cassandra Conklin holds a 0.94 goals-against average and a save percentage of 83.3 percent, which is second-best in the conference. The only goalkeeper in the CC to have a lower goals-against average and higher save percentage is F&M's Sydney Lippe.
