The Franklin & Marshall field hockey team (4-3, 1-0 CC) travels to Gettysburg (2-5, 0-1 CC) for a Centennial Conference game on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. The Diplomats return to Tylus Field Saturday at 12:00 p.m. when they host Mary Washington (4-4).

Last Week

F&M won a 1-0 thriller against 20th-ranked Ursinus Saturday afternoon. Darby Klopp scored the game-winning goal with just over three minutes to play in regulation. After an Ursinus foul, Klopp collected the ball, split two defenders, and sent a shot that found the back of the net. The Diplomats outshot the Bears 15-9 in the win. Katie Roper had a huge defensive save in the win that helped her earn CC defensive player of the week. Read the recap here.

Last Time

The Bullets defeated the 14th-ranked Diplomats, 2-1, during their 2021 matchup. Gettysburg scored two late goals in the fourth quarter to push past F&M. Darby Klopp scored Franklin & Marshall's lone goal in the game. After a scrum in front of the net during the first quarter, Klopp poked in the loose ball to put F&M on the scoreboard. The second-ranked Diplomats defeated Mary Washington 3-2 early in the 2021 campaign. After the Eagles took a 2-0 in the first quarter, F&M scored a goal in each quarter to complete the comeback win. Avery Niedland, Amelia McCarthy, and Klopp all netted goals for the Diplomats. Klopp also earned an assist on McCarthy's fourth quarter score. Read the recap here.

Gettysburg Team Preview

After starting the 2022 season winless through four games, Gettysburg defeated Susquehanna and Lebanon Valley to get into the win column. The Bullets' only played one CC game so far, which was a 6-0 loss to Bryn Mawr. Bella Bonazinga, Hailey Rhine, and Jenna Vadinsky are tied for the team-high in points with three each. Goalkeeper Emilia Saccento has a 2.25 goals-against average and a save percentage of 67.9 percent.

Mary Washington Team Preview

Mary Washington comes into Saturday's match with a 4-4 overall record. The Eagles are 0-1 against CC teams this year after a 3-1 loss against Bryn Mawr. Forward Emma Bernard leads Mary Washington in points (23), goals (eight), and assists (seven) this season. Goalkeeper Bailey McNabb holds a 3.22 goals-against average and a save percentage of 64.5 percent.
