Last Week
F&M recorded a big comeback victory against then-ranked No. 19 TCNJ, 11-8, on Tuesday afternoon. The Lions jumped out to a 6-1 advantage in the game before the Diplomats erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the seventh to take an 8-6 lead. A two-run homer for the Lions tied the game at 8-8 in the top of the eighth, but a three-RBI double from Jakob Hoffman in the bottom of the frame turned out to be the deciding factor as F&M held on to win, 11-8. The Diplomats then opened Centennial Conference action Saturday as the Garnet defeated F&M, 7-1, in game one. In the contest, Spencer Berson improved his hitting streak to 14 games with a single in the eighth. Kiernan Keller pitched well in relief, tallying five strikeouts without allowing an earned run in 5.2 innings. Game two of the doubleheader was later postponed due to rain. A makeup date has not yet been determined. Read the full recap here.
Upcoming Milestones
With last week's victory over then-ranked No. 19 TCNJ, head coach Ryan Horning is just two wins shy of 200 career victories at the helm of the F&M baseball program. Horning would become just the fifth-active Centennial Conference head coach to reach the 200-win mark at their respective school.
