Last Week
F&M fell in its opening three games of the season last weekend in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The Diplomats lost to Penn State Harrisburg, 5-4, before dropping two to N.C. Wesleyan, 8-2, 7-1. Bobby Falese had a good opening week at the plate, batting .385 with five hits including a home run that broke the program career-record. Spencer Berson also had a good showing at the dish with a triple and a home run during the opening weekend.
Last Time vs. Montclair State
Franklin & Marshall split its doubleheader against then-ranked No. 23 Montclair State last season. The Diplomats knocked off the Red Hawks, 12-2, in game one before falling in game two, 8-2. Drew Butera and Falese each hit a home run in game one. The duo also drove in a combined seven RBI in the victory. Montclair State Team Preview
After falling to Swarthmore, 17-7, to open the season, the Red Hawks began a three-game winning streak with victories over Mount Aloysius, McDaniel, and St. Joseph's College - Long Island. Reece Malek leads Montclair State with a .417 batting average, while holding a 1.033 OPS with one double and three RBI. In its last three games, Montclair State starting pitching has only allowed one earned run.
