Last Time vs. Dickinson

During the 2023 season, F&M swept the Red Devils in the regular season with an 8-4 win in game one and a 9-3 victory in game two. The two teams then met up in the CC Tournament where F&M walked off Dickinson, 8-7.  Tied 7-7 entering the bottom of the ninth, the Diplomats loaded the bases for Evan Varga to drop a single into the left center field gap - pushing F&M into the next round of the tournament. Franklin & Marshall was then eliminated from the conference tournament by Dickinson two games later, 8-0. The Red Devils plated five runs on three home runs in the fifth inning to jump ahead of the Diplomats in the game. F&M was limited to just five hits in the contest as well. Last Time vs. Johns Hopkins

Then-ranked No. 1 Johns Hopkins beat the Diplomats in all three games last season. JHU swept the Diplomats during the regular season, 4-2, 15-7, before downing F&M in the conference tournament, 5-1. In the playoff game, the Diplomats got their lone run on an RBI-groundout from Spencer Berson to plate Bobby Falese in the sixth. Bijan Anvar pitched well in the contest, striking out three in 4.1 innings of work. Thomas McLaughlin didn't allow a hit in his relief appearance - striking out four in 3.2 innings pitched. Dickinson Team Preview

Entering Tuesday's game in second place in the conference standings, Dickinson has won its last six games with its most recent coming against York (Pa.), 7-4. Ryan Thompson leads the Red Devils in batting average (.429) and slugging percentage (.612). Thompson also has seven doubles, one triple, three home runs, and 31 RBI. Pitcher Koll Peichel holds a 6-1 record and a 3.44 ERA, while also tallying 61 strikeouts in 55 innings. Joey Sangiuolo has been dominant out of the bullpen with five saves and 36 strikeouts in 35.1 innings this season.
