Theatre

Theatre I/II

In this combined course, Theatre I students perform frequently, learning mime movement, vocal projection, role interpretation, basic makeup, theories of costume, and lighting design. An evening performance is required as part of the final exam. Theatre I may be used for required art/music credit, but it may not be substituted for English credit. Theatre II students combine theory with practice in comedy technique and interpretation of playwrights. Sessions on voice, movement, relaxation techniques, and improvisation are an important part of the course. Students are required to demonstrate an understanding of the technical aspects of theatre and contribute technical hours for productions.
