Unlocking Potential with Gizmos Classroom Modeling

What is Classroom Modeling?

Classroom-based modeling provides the opportunity to work collaboratively with an Alberta Gizmos Coach to learn multiple strategies that can be used to incorporate Gizmos into your classroom teaching. This type of professional development is personalized, no-cost, and focuses on the educator's specific needs.

The Process

Pre-Modeling Meeting (during non-instructional time)

Equivalent Fractions

Explore fractions using the Fractionator, the machine that makes fraction tiles. Compare fractions and find equivalent fractions by arranging the tiles on two horizontal rows. Explore simplifying fractions. Add fractions and express sums as improper fractions or mixed numbers.

Fractions équivalentes (Carreaux de Fractions)
