Tastings


As you’ll know we offer tastings on the Markets tour, and it is listed as one of our selling points as you can note on the Highlight example: 


“🔸 Experience the sights and smells of La Boquería, where you’ll also sample local olives.”


It is important that we collaborate with the partners by trying to make sales to ensure that they remain happy working with us.


This sheet is designed to help you understand how to navigate the logistics of these things.


Olives


The olive stall located at stall 950-52 known as Olives Francesc is our partner for this tasting.

The couple are a lovely pair and will be able to help you with any questions customers may have. 


🔸They will usually offer you arbequina, lemon, and spiced olives

🔸Their packed olives will last for months at a time and can be carried on a plane vacuum sealed

🔸They are a great souvenir and you can highlight this as a point for sale

🔸Olive oils are sourced from local producers and can be brought on check-in

🔸Olives Francesc has been going since 1947 and they are famed for being providers for many top notch restaurants across Catalonia

🔸When you’re at the stall please be careful to try and talk about the olives from the point where they sell the cones of ham and olives.


Turrons


Though we do not officially offer tourons anymore we would like to try and engage as best we can with them. Also it is of financial benefit to each guide due to the fact that you carry a percentage of the sales you bring as a guide.


We want to try and cultivate this relationship by bringing sales so that we can try and mark it online again


You have three different stall options:


By cycling through these we also avoid going to just one stall.


🔸You can encourage sales by recommending these as souvenirs, they are easily transported and can be brought in carry on.

🔸The brand Vincens is one year older than the USA as a nation which is a fun fact the Americans love when you mention it.


Olive Oil


🔸On the Passeig del Born you can now bring the guests for an olive oil tasting at La Chinata where they will be shown the selection by the person working. You do not have to do anything in terms of displaying product but if you want to guide people or help them make a purchase - feel free to do so.


🔸They ask that if we have big groups please divide them into smaller sections of 7 or 8 max, in the case you have  less than 10 people they should all be okay going in.

Upgrade logistics: Tastings at Vila Viniteca


Suggested timing: 1 hour max

Location: Carrer dels Agullers, 7, Ciutat Vella, 08003 (it's the place that looks like a supermarket)


🔸Guests will now be able to upgrade their experience and go for a tasting session which consists of local hams and cheeses as well as a sampling of 3 individual wines. 


🔸You as the guide also get food as part of the experience though not alcohol.


🔸They will provide a sommelier on site to walk the guests through the wines

.

🔸The guide will accompany the guests to the site and wait with them while they are there for a total 45 mins after the end of the Markets tour.


🔸The tasting is paid by the guide via their Divvy card.
