Tips on How to Increase Your Number of Guest Reviews Per Tour

  1. Give a knockout tour!!! Share your passion and knowledge about your city, have fun and be enthusiastic. A great tour is less about the content and more about the way that you present it. When a guest leaves a tour and goes back home it’s very unlikely that they will remember most of what you told them, but they will remember how the tour made them feel. That is the lasting impression that we want to make on our tours.

  2. Make a personal connection with your guests before, during, and after the tour: ask them where they are from, what else they are doing on their trip to your city, make recommendations for restaurants and other things to do while they are traveling to your city, tell personal stories etc.

  3. Ask for a review in your tour Outro!!! If you do not ask for a review in person at the end of the tour, the likelihood that you will receive one is very low. The way that you ask is also very important. Make sure to emphasize to your guests that their reviews are helping other travelers have wonderful travel experiences just like theirs and that their reviews also help you get scheduled to give more tours and work at something that you are truly passionate about each and every single day.

  4. Create a personalized review mailer. ExperienceFirst does send out a review mailer automatically to all guests who joined the tour, but that personal touch will really make a difference in the number of reviews that you receive. Let guests know in your tour Outro that you’ve included extra goodies and information for them to have a look at relevant to their travels so that they are more likely to open the review mailer. Some suggestions include: the link to the group photo, recommended restaurants in your city, off the beaten path things to do in your city, little known tips and tricks about traveling in your city etc.

  5. Sending your review mailer out at a strategic time. It is very tempting to send your review mailer out right after your tour has finished. The best time to send a review mailer out (if sending same day) is in the late afternoon/evening when guests are most likely done with their adventures for the day and winding down at their hotel pre or post dinner time. Sending your mailer out at this time will make it less likely to get lost in the guest’s inbox. When following up on a review mailer, send an email again about a week after the tour. It is most likely that the guest is back home and unwound by then and has the time to leave a review after their travels are completed.

This information applies to English Eiffel Tower Tours, both Climbing and Elevator

-Tours are to be done on the ground floor (before buying the tickets)

-Guiding is not allowed on the first floor (Just a small break for the toilets)

Guests who purchased a Summit upgrade must continue to the top once they reach the second floor (2FL).

Guests who purchased a second-floor tour (2FL) will continue with the guide in order to have the monuments pointed out to them as if they're having a tour of the city from the sky.

Ensure to provide a detailed introduction, setting expectations for how the process will work, before you start your tour.

If you have a mixed group (guests with tours to both the 2FL and Summit), only a 2FL ticket should be purchased for yourself.  Be sure to add the ticket for you to the total number of tickets needed to be purchased for the 2FL.

If it happens that everyone in your group has purchased a Summit upgrade, it is acceptable for you to purchase a Summit ticket for yourself as well.  If this is the case, it is necessary to write a comment in the Checkin App explaining this because the numbers in the Checkin App will not take into account the additional amount.

I implore you to gauge your guests to find the best moment to ask for reviews, keeping in mind that if you have guests who have Summit access, once they're on the 2FL, they will need to immediately continue to the top.
